At first I thought we wouldn't be taking a trip this year, but it appears we may make one after all. This year we will be staying on the east coast instead of going out west, and heading up to Acadia National Park in Maine (and fitting in a wedding along the way). It will be later in the year so I'm hoping for beautiful colors that I can photograph. This will be a new adventure for me as I have never been to Maine, even though I was born in New York and made the trip back home many times after I moved to Florida. So now the planning stages begin, and we find places to visit, things to do, and places to stay. So cheers to the next road trip.
When I was young my family use to go on vacation every summer, and because we were a large group we could never afford to fly, so we drove everywhere. It was during those trips that my love for the open road began, and continues to this day. While traveling across America, I get to see what makes this country so great and so diverse. There is nothing more enjoyable then to stop in small towns and talk to the locals, or enjoy a meal at a family owned diner. Talking to people and finding out what makes them love their town or city as much as you love your own is a pleasure that only adds to the overall adventure.
